Margo Pickworth BA Dip Ed M Ed (Teacher Librarianship) M Arts (E_Learning)
Biography
Margo is a highly qualified and experienced Teacher Librarian currently working at Shore School, North Sydney. Her interests include the incorporation of technology, Guided Inquiry and the promotion of children’s literature. She has been determined to demonstrate that Teacher Librarians perform an integral role in the teaching and learning process and this conviction has motivated her to become one of the first NSW teacher librarians to reach the Highly Accomplished level of accreditation.
She currently mentors and supports all teachers who are both attaining and maintaining accreditation.
She is a Board member of the Australian School Library Association and has co-authored documents to support Teacher Librarians through NESA accreditation as well as composing documentation for ASLA to become an accredited provider of NESA accredited documentation.

- Provide an overview of the NESA process of NSW teacher accreditation, including the four Career Stages in teaching
- Unpack the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and highlight the relevance to the teacher librarian role
- Explain the process of the maintenance cycle, particularly for pre-2004 teachers
- Examine the impact on our Professional Development hours, including how to select and keep an accurate record of your professional development
- Offer links to support documentation, including ASLA Evidence Guides that have been specifically written to support NSW TLs through the accreditation process.
